About the Role
As Senior Policy Adviser at the Royal College of Nursing, you will collaborate closely with colleagues and functions across the UK organisation, leading complex policy development and influencing public policy change in England and across the UK on issues impacting our members. You will work alongside teams in research, public affairs and nursing practice to identify key issues, risks and opportunities for the nursing profession. Using this insight, you will design policy work programmes and develop robust positioning to test with members, colleagues and stakeholders. You will create compelling evidence-based policy narratives and targeted recommendations.
You will build strong relationships with peers at Royal Colleges, Trade Unions, Government departments and other organisations across the health and social care sector. These relationships will be used to influence change, identify opportunities for collaboration and bring valuable insight into the organisation.
Experience
- Demonstrable experience analysing the external policy and political landscape in the UK to identify specific issues and levers for change.
- Proven ability to produce detailed, high-quality policy and data analysis along with policy recommendations supported by credible evidence-based cases.
- Experience providing analysis and developing policy positions and recommendations.
- Ability to manage competing priorities and thrive in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities.
