The Enfield Integrated Learning Disabilities (ILDS) Service is looking a Senior Practitioner, to use skills, knowledge and understanding of practice within the area of specialism to support and deliver in the development of service provision by: - Working with the most complex cases within the area of specialism designated for this post - To make appropriate use of local, departmental and independent resources - Contribute to the professional development of others within the specialist area of practice - Maintain high standards of professional practice within your own workload and to promote and enhance such practice within the team - To use advanced skills, knowledge and understanding of the area of specialism to assist in the development of service provision and promote independence, choice and control for service users - Carry out all duties within a quality and equalities framework based on Council policy and performance targets, professional standards and best practice - Deputise for the Team Manager/Assistant Team Manager as appropriate. To apply for this role you would require: Essential: - As a regular and intrinsic part of this role requires you to speak and communicate to members of the public in English, the ability to converse at ease with customers and provide advice in accurate spoken and written English is essential and consistent with the requirements of this role. This role also requires you to be polite and courteous when conversing with the public. - Social Work Qualification and registration with Social Work England, with, ideally with a minimum of four years post qualifying practice, with a strong emphasis on physical disability, safeguarding and care management. (Best Interest Assessor Qualification and Practice Educator Qualification) - Demonstrate highly skilled professional competence in social work practice by using extensive practice knowledge and working within agreed standards of best practice and codes of conduct in-line with Enfield Council’s Polices and Social work England standards of practice and conduct. - Knowledge and understanding of the legislative framework and good practice guidance that underpins Social Work practice in Adult Social Care including an ability to implement the standards of the the Care Act and other relevant legislation, to promote s/user choice and control while ensuring good outcomes for both the s/user and organisation. - Experience of completing assessments and care planning in line with the care act, making use of collaborative working with partner organisations to enable people to achieve their goals and outcomes, while maximising their independence through the use of resources such as community assets, assistive technology or equipment and adaptations. - To be able to be flexible and imaginative in practice to manage often challenging and complex situations with sensitivity and tact, to assist in resolving issues and improving outcomes for s/user and the organisation. - Experience of providing professional support and supervision to staff, negotiating case management tasks and assisting with supervisee’s performance and personal development.
