About the Role
Harrow Council is hiring a Senior Social Worker for a 12-month fixed-term contract. This role focuses on delivering high-quality social work services. The role will be a blend of leadership, management, and direct casework, including holding a small complex caseload while assisting the team manager with supervision and development of the team. The postholder will contribute to the management of the team’s budget through effective quality assurance of support plans to ensure cost-effective service delivery. Responsibilities include acting as a Designated Senior Officer for safeguarding concerns and S.42 enquiries, ensuring timely and robust responses to safeguarding issues, screening safeguarding referrals, chairing safeguarding meetings, and maintaining high standards of practice across the team. The role also involves working collaboratively with council colleagues and partner agencies to meet person-centred outcomes within budgetary constraints and representing the local authority in key meetings.
Experience
A minimum of two years post-qualification experience in a social work role.
About you
The successful candidate will have a social worker qualification and hold qualifications such as CQSW, DipSW/HE, BA in Social Work, or MA/MSc in Social Work. You must be registered with Social Work England and hold the Practice Educator qualification. Educational attainment to degree level or equivalent or relevant work experience is required.
