About the Role
As a Senior Social Worker at Kingston Council, you will promote the wellbeing of Kingston residents and support your team in achieving high levels of performance while adhering to the relevant legislative framework. You will work alongside the team manager and other senior practitioners to maintain good performance within the team and allocate cases effectively. Your responsibilities will include budget management, approval of care plans, Care Act Assessments, care reviews, and conducting Mental Capacity Assessments and Best Interest Meetings. You will also carry out regular supervision with both qualified and unqualified staff, maintaining motivation and aiding staff retention. Additionally, you will be fully responsible for managing a caseload that includes individuals with complex needs, ensuring compliance with the Care Act and Mental Capacity Act.
Experience
Registered with Social Work England. Sound knowledge and relevant work experience on the Care Act 2014, the Mental Capacity Act 2005, and other relevant legislation. Demonstrable understanding of the principles and application of excellent adult social care. Experience in managing competing demands and complex caseloads while supporting the team leader and other senior practitioners in running the team. Proven experience in creating effective working relationships with internal and external customers.
About you
Strong literacy, numeracy, interpersonal, and IT skills. Ideally, you would have experience supervising staff members and managing budget responsibilities.
Qualifications
Demonstrable experience in adult social care and relevant qualifications as per the requirements of the role.
