About the Role
As a Senior Social Worker, you will promote the wellbeing of Kingston residents and support your team in achieving high performance while assisting vulnerable residents in accordance with relevant legislative frameworks. You will work alongside the team manager and other senior practitioners to maintain strong team performance and allocate cases effectively. Your responsibilities will include budget management, approval of care plans, Care Act Assessments, care reviews, Mental Capacity Assessments, and Best Interest Meetings. You will carry out regular supervision with qualified and unqualified staff, supporting and motivating them to aid staff retention. You will also be fully responsible for managing a caseload including people with complex needs, ensuring adherence to the Care Act and Mental Capacity Act.

The Surbiton and Chessington Hub supports vulnerable residents requiring assistance under the Care Act 2014. It is a high-performing team made up of qualified and unqualified members, senior practitioners, and a Team Manager. Experience
- Registered with Social Work England
- Sound knowledge and relevant work experience with the Care Act 2014, the Mental Capacity Act 2005, and other relevant legislation
- Demonstrable understanding of the principles and application of excellent adult social care
- Experience managing competing demands and complex caseloads
- Experience supporting team leaders and senior practitioners in team management
- Demonstrable experience creating effective working relationships with internal and external customers
- Ideally, experience supervising staff members and managing budgets
About You
You are a skilled social worker with strong literacy, numeracy, interpersonal, and IT skills. You are motivated to support vulnerable residents and lead a team effectively, maintaining high standards of care and compliance with legislative requirements.
Qualifications
Registered Social Worker status with Social Work England is essential.
