About the Role
Enfield Library Service has a vacancy for the role of Service Development Officer. In this position, you will lead the planning and delivery of specific projects and initiatives aimed at improving library services in Enfield Libraries. You will be responsible for the day-to-day operation and line management of various staff delivering front-line services across different locations. This includes reviewing, improving, and taking responsibility for staff activities and performance through the PDR process and one-on-ones, identifying appropriate development and training activities, and delivering coaching. You will also manage people management issues, including recruitment, probationary reviews, initial disciplinary/capability issues, and absence management within the team. Additionally, you will organize and manage the delivery of a program of initiatives across libraries in support of the Council’s objectives, including digital inclusion, literacy for children and adults, a love of reading, and lifelong learning. You will maintain, monitor, and potentially expand current initiatives that generate income for the service while seeking new income generation opportunities. Furthermore, you will monitor project funds to ensure they are spent appropriately and in a timely manner.
Experience
Proven experience in project management and staff management is essential. Strong leadership skills and the ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously are required.

Qualifications
A relevant degree or equivalent experience in a related field is desirable. Strong organizational and communication skills are essential.
