About the Role
As a Sessional Contact Supervisor, you will facilitate positive, supervised family time sessions between parents or extended family members and children in the care of the local authority. Your responsibilities will include facilitating and supervising family time sessions, ensuring safe handovers between foster carers and parents, and maintaining a safe environment before, during, and after sessions to prevent unsupervised interactions. You will be required to follow policies and procedures regarding any identified risks to children and provide timely, accurate reports that can be presented as evidence in court. This role offers the opportunity to improve relationships between children and their families, supported by appropriate training and supervision.

About the Service and Team
You will be part of the Practice Support and Development Service, contributing to the delivery of high-quality family time sessions. The service provides good support and supervision, along with access to training to develop your skills further.

Requirements

Experience
- Minimum of 2-3 years' experience working with children and families or a recognised relevant qualification.
- Experience dealing with safeguarding issues appropriate to the role.
- Ability to write concise, accurate, and relevant reports within required timescales.

About you
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels.
- Friendly and approachable nature.
- Good IT skills.
- Strong understanding of current legislation and policies regarding safeguarding children and families.

Qualifications
- Hold a recognised relevant qualification or equivalent experience working with children and families.
