About the Role
As Sister/Charge Nurse on Esther Ward, you will provide clinical leadership and managerial oversight to the ward team, fostering effective multi-disciplinary collaboration to ensure high quality patient care. You will be accountable for nursing practice in line with the NMC Code of Professional Conduct, promoting continuous professional development for yourself and your team. Your role includes managing patient flow, admissions, and discharges while maximising clinical resources and implementing best practices.
You will motivate and support nursing staff, identify training needs, and work closely with Human Resources and the Matron on recruitment, retention, and staff development. You will ensure compliance with Trust HR policies and participate in appraisals and staff inductions. Working with the Practice Development Team, you will maintain training records and actively contribute to teaching junior staff and students.
In addition, you will uphold the highest standards of clinical governance, infection prevention, and patient safety. You will engage in audit, research, service redesign, and risk management activities, contributing to the development and adherence of policies and clinical guidelines. You will lead service development initiatives, ensuring delivery within financial resources and aligned with business plans.

Experience
Proven clinical leadership and management experience within a nursing environment. Experience in managing multi-disciplinary teams and delivering high standards of patient care.

Qualifications
Registered Nurse with current NMC registration. Evidence of ongoing professional development. Experience or qualification in clinical leadership or management is desirable.
