About the Role
As Sister/Charge Nurse at Harrison Wing, you will provide clinical leadership and managerial oversight to the department nursing team, ensuring delivery of high-quality clinical care and an excellent patient experience that respects patients' customs, religious beliefs, and doctrines. You will lead and support the multidisciplinary team, fostering effective collaboration and communication to ensure seamless patient care within the trust and community.

You will be accountable for your professional practice in line with the NMC code of conduct, acting as a role model and advocate for patients. Your responsibilities include managing clinical resources efficiently, monitoring budgets, ensuring adequate equipment and staffing, and maintaining high standards of infection prevention and control.

In this role, you will lead the ward team through change, deputise for the Matron as required, and oversee the correct administration of prescribed medication including injectables. You will assess and respond to emergencies, promote patient-centred care, and ensure safe and competent practice at all times.

Additionally, you will actively participate in nursing and multi-professional research, audits, and quality initiatives, contributing to service development and business planning. You will help implement departmental protocols, monitor activity, and seek continuous improvement in service delivery based on patient and public feedback.

Requirements

Experience
Proven experience in clinical leadership and nursing management, ideally within HIV care or a related specialty. Demonstrated ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and manage budgets effectively. Experience in clinical governance, audit, and quality improvement is essential.

Qualifications
Registered Nurse with current NMC registration. Relevant post-registration qualifications or specialist training in nursing leadership or HIV care are desirable. Commitment to maintaining professional competence in line with NMC PREP requirements.
