Salary
Up to £50,085 per annum, with a Welcome Bonus of £1,000 paid in your first month's salary or a Retention Bonus of £1,000 for every complete year in service (subject to pay grade). Total package up to £51,083 including bonuses and benefits.

About the Service and Team
Adult Social Care is undergoing significant transformation to meet rising demand and improve care for adults while creating positive working environments for staff. Led by experienced managers and new leadership, the service is driving meaningful change to enhance outcomes for the community and provide an inclusive, diverse, and stable environment for career growth.
Our Learning Disabilities team has extensive experience supporting adults with learning disabilities. The team focuses on growth and development opportunities, supported by Assistant Managers and Team Development Days that foster collaborative learning. You will work alongside the Clinical Health team, gaining insights from specialists such as speech and language therapists and physiotherapists, ensuring comprehensive support in your role.
About the Role
We are seeking a Social Worker to join Adult Social Care to empower adults with learning disabilities to live as independently as possible. This role offers a dynamic and diverse environment to expand your social care skills and knowledge. Key responsibilities include collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, healthcare professionals, and community partners to provide holistic support tailored to individual needs.
As a Social Worker in the Learning Disabilities team, you will play a vital role in supporting people to live their best lives and maximize independence. You will coordinate with health colleagues and community services to ensure appropriate support levels are met. This position requires excellent communication skills, compassion, and the ability to manage a fast-paced workload with competing demands.

Experience
- Qualified Social Worker with current registration with Social Work England
- Minimum 2 years post-ASYE qualifying experience in adult services
- Experience assessing and supporting individuals with diverse needs
- Successful completion of ASYE
- Sound knowledge of relevant legislation including the Care Act 2014 and Mental Capacity Act 2005
- Experience in Adult Safeguarding work
- Strong assessment, outcome-focused care planning, and risk management skills
- Ability to manage competing demands in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to travel across the borough and occasionally outside the borough for client visits
