About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Social Worker to join our Multi-Agency Safeguarding Hub (MASH)/Front Door team within the Starting Well directorate. This is an exciting opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of children and young people by delivering high-quality intervention within social care services in line with statutory requirements and best practice.
As part of our Starting Well service, you will manage a varied caseload, conduct thorough assessments, and work collaboratively with multi-agency partners to safeguard and improve outcomes for children and families.
Key responsibilities include holding and managing a diverse caseload, utilising specialist knowledge for appropriate interventions, needs and risk assessments, care planning, child in need and child in care processes, and child protection investigations. You will undertake high-quality, child-centred assessments, work with the multi-agency network to deliver interventions that bring about positive change, and maintain accurate, timely case records and reports in line with departmental standards.
You will contribute to the continued delivery of an effective Children Social Care service as part of a social work team, improving outcomes for children and young people in line with statutory and departmental policies, procedures, and guidance.
Qualifications
CQSW, Degree in Social Work, CSS or equivalent qualification. Current Social Work England registration is essential.
Experience
Minimum of 2 years’ experience working with children and families, including statutory assessments and child protection work.
About You
Strong analytical and communication skills with the ability to apply child care legislation effectively.
Proficient in IT systems for case management.
In-depth knowledge of the Children Act 1989 & 2004, Working Together guidance, child development, and safeguarding frameworks.
A valid UK driving licence and access to a car for work purposes.
