About the Role
This isn’t just catering, this is Jewish Care catering. We are seeking a skilled and passionate Sous Chef to join our team at our Maurice and Vivienne Wohl Campus in Golders Green. You will work in a high-spec kitchen equipped with top-quality equipment, including Rational iCombi ovens, as part of an established and high-performing team. As Sous Chef, you will be responsible for ensuring excellent service to our customers and creating an inviting and pleasant environment. Your core duties include ensuring all food produced meets agreed standards, developing innovative approaches that consider market trends, cultural requirements, and Kashrut laws. You will monitor and maintain all food hygiene and Health & Safety practices in line with organisational policies and legislation. Working within the agreed budget, you will administer unit controls and consistently seek ways to improve quality and cost-effectiveness.
You will lead, motivate, and encourage team building to achieve qualitative outcomes and exceed customer service expectations. You will deputise for the Head Chef in their absence and comply with their responsibilities.
Experience
Previous experience working in a busy kitchen environment, both independently and as part of a team. Appropriate supervisory experience is essential.

Energetic, passionate, and proactive attitude. Ability to work to deadlines and adhere to budgetary requirements. Understanding of the challenges and sensitivity needed to care for and support vulnerable people.
Qualifications
Relevant qualifications pertaining to the safe delivery of Food & Hygiene or Catering Services, such as NVQ Level 2 or 3.
