About the Role
This is an exciting opportunity to join the Children and Young Peoples acute paediatric team at one of the best NHS trusts to work for in England. You will work alongside a large and friendly multidisciplinary team in both inpatient and outpatient settings. Around 20,000 children and young people attend the emergency department annually, which has recently relocated to new facilities. Acute admissions are managed on age-specific wards located on the 11th and 12th floors of the hospital tower. The adolescent unit is the largest in Europe and a source of pride for the trust. A single oncology service for patients aged 0-19 years has been established in partnership with Great Ormond Street Hospital and UCLH. The adolescent endocrinology service supports transition from Great Ormond Street Hospital, alongside a regional Diabetes service.
The Child & Adolescent Diabetes Service at UCLH is the leading service in the UK, achieving the best results in the 2016 National Paediatric Diabetes Audit and operating the largest insulin pump service nationally. Consultants in these specialties are jointly employed between UCLH and Great Ormond Street Hospital.
