About the Role
As a Convenience Store Manager at Sainsbury's, you will have full control over your shop and be an accountable leader driving the delivery of our purpose to make good food joyful, accessible and affordable for everyone, every day. You will lead a team of Customer and Trading Managers who run the shifts, while you plan and prepare for upcoming trading activity with a commercial mindset, anticipating issues from today up to six months ahead. You will ensure all operations are safe, legal, and aligned with business objectives.
This role requires hands-on leadership in a fast-paced retail environment, managing product availability, safety standards, and seamless daily operations. You will be a role model for excellent service and business values, using data and insight to improve performance and customer experience. Retail is ever-evolving with new initiatives and change programmes, and you will be responsible for making difficult decisions that are both challenging and rewarding.

Experience
- Proven experience leading a fast-paced retail operation with accountability for customer, financial and organisational outcomes.
- Experience managing employee relations cases including dismissals, with confidence in interpreting and applying HR policies.
- Skilled in using data and insight to inform planning and improve store performance and customer experience.
- Experience in developing and supporting leadership capability within teams.
- Ability to lead change effectively while maintaining team motivation and wellbeing.
