About the Role
The Strategic Clinical Director (SCD) is accountable to the Director of Strategy for the effective clinical leadership, design, and delivery of a neighbourhood health programme/service for Camden & Islington. This role involves designing and testing new health and care pathways to support the delivery of neighbourhood health and left shift. The SCD will oversee clinical governance of workstreams and projects agreed as part of this programme, working closely with operational leads across service areas. The role requires cultivating strong working relationships across North Central London (NCL) with system partners including primary and secondary care (acute, mental health, and community), Local Authorities, VCSE organisations, and the NCL Integrated Care Board (ICB). Additionally, the SCD will develop an informal coalition of clinicians across NCL providers who are engaged or aspire to deliver a more integrated approach to health and care. Supporting the design and delivery of a strategic communications programme to increase awareness of integrated care and population health initiatives at UCLH and beyond, particularly among UCLH staff, is also a key responsibility.
UCLH is recognised as the best NHS trust to work for in England according to the most recent NHS staff survey, achieving the highest percentage of staff recommending it as a workplace among general acute or acute/community NHS trusts for three consecutive years. The trust values flexible working arrangements and is committed to creating a supportive and inclusive environment for all staff.
Experience
Proven clinical leadership experience within integrated health and care settings is essential. Experience in designing and delivering neighbourhood health programmes and new care pathways is highly desirable. Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively across multiple health and care organisations and sectors is required.

You are a motivated and strategic clinical leader with excellent communication and relationship-building skills. You are passionate about integrated care and population health, with a commitment to improving health outcomes through innovative service design and partnership working.
