About the Role
This is a key post within the Place Directorate. The post holder will play a significant role in managing streetworks across the London Borough of Croydon’s road network, covering an area of 87km² from Upper Norwood in the north to Old Coulsdon in the south, supported by a road network of 726km.

We are seeking an enthusiastic, motivated and well-organised Streetworks Co-ordinator (Streetworks Inspector) responsible for inspecting live streetworks and reinstatement to protect the integrity of the public highway. This will be carried out within the parameters of the Traffic Management Act 2004, New Road and Street Works Act 1991, the Highways Act 1980, and various codes of practice. The role includes performing NRSWA duties and requires knowledge of the Street Manager software system or an equivalent, as assessing permits is part of the role.

The role is site-based and requires a driving licence and access to a suitable vehicle. Reporting to the Senior Engineer Quality, you will represent the Council at senior level meetings and work closely with other members of the Highways Network Management Team. You will be part of an enthusiastic team committed to high standards of working.

Requirements

Experience
Proven experience in streetworks coordination or inspection, with a strong understanding of relevant legislation including the Traffic Management Act 2004, New Road and Street Works Act 1991, and the Highways Act 1980. Experience using Street Manager software or equivalent systems is essential.

Qualifications
A formal qualification in a relevant subject and/or comprehensive relevant post experience is required. The successful candidate will be subject to a DBS check if the role requires one.
