About the Role
As a Structured Clinical Management (SCM) Practitioner within the NHS, you will implement formal psychological treatment and management plans for patients' mental health problems using SCM, working collaboratively with other team members. You will exercise autonomous professional responsibility for the assessment and treatment of your allocated caseload, ensuring flexible management tailored to the individual needs of clients and their carers. The role involves participation in clinical and managerial supervision, maintaining effective communication within the team, and sharing relevant information as required. You will work within established policy, professional, and legal frameworks, including adherence to the Code of Professional Conduct, risk assessment and safeguarding protocols, the Mental Health Act, Care Programme Approach (CPA), and Trust clinical policies. Additionally, you will implement or participate in crisis intervention measures with clients and families or in conjunction with other agencies. Monitoring and supervising the therapeutic effects and side-effects of prescribed medication is a key responsibility, providing clients with clear advice and information. Accurate clinical documentation must be maintained in line with professional and Trust record-keeping standards.

Requirements

Experience
Experience in psychological treatment and management of mental health problems using Structured Clinical Management or similar therapeutic approaches is essential. Proven ability to manage a defined caseload autonomously within a clinical service model is required.

You must demonstrate excellent communication and teamwork abilities, with a clear understanding of professional and legal frameworks including safeguarding, risk assessment, and the Mental Health Act. You should be committed to delivering high-quality patient care and able to work flexibly to meet client and carer needs.

Qualifications
Relevant professional clinical qualification and registration with an appropriate regulatory body are required. Evidence of ongoing professional development and clinical supervision is expected.
