About the Service and Team
We are a groundbreaking, innovative housing partnership operating as a not-for-profit organisation in the Borough of Sutton with ambitious objectives to make Sutton a great place to live. Formed in April 2006 as an Arms Length Management Organisation (ALMO), we work in partnership with Sutton Council and its residents, managing over 6,000 council properties and over 1,500 leasehold properties. SHP was awarded the highest possible rating of C1 by the Social Housing Regulator in October 2025 and is fully compliant with all standards.

About the Role and Our Ideal Candidate
We are seeking two qualified Supervisors with strong management and leadership skills to manage a team of operational trade staff, ensuring responsive repairs are delivered to a high standard. You will be responsible for managing performance, monitoring compliance and quality assurance to achieve the best outcomes for customers and the team.
You will manage a team of repair operatives, conduct inspections on building repairs and defects related to building fabric, mechanical, plumbing and electrical repairs, and carry out surveys to assess work in response to complaints. You will provide accurate reports for case management and ensure solutions are delivered.
For void properties, you will oversee end-to-end inspections (pre, during and post), ensuring quality of work, issuing remedial snag lists where required, and managing delivery within agreed timescales and standards. You will also carry out inspections and surveys of escalated repair instances, producing scopes of work or referring to complex or major works as necessary.

Experience
Demonstrable experience within the building or construction industry is essential. Experience managing teams and delivering responsive repairs to a high standard is required.

You must be committed to providing quality frontline customer service with strong management skills. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, pressurised environment is essential. You should have confidence to diagnose repairs effectively and provide practical solutions. A professional approach and the ability to collaborate with colleagues and stakeholders is important. You must be passionate about meeting challenging performance outcomes and developing your team.
You must be able to drive and use NEC systems as jobs are scheduled through these platforms. Commercial awareness to achieve value for money through collaborative working is also required.

Qualifications
NVQ Level 3 or higher in a building trade is essential. Level 4 and/or CIH Level 4 in Planned Maintenance is desirable.
