About the Role
Outward has been providing high-quality support and care services to vulnerable people across London for 50 years, focusing on person-centred support for adults with learning disabilities, autism, mental health and complex needs. We are seeking dedicated, enthusiastic and compassionate Support Workers to join our supported living services in Enfield. You will support adults with autism and learning disabilities living independently or in shared accommodation. This hands-on role involves assisting with everyday life activities such as developing life skills, accessing the community, personal care and wellbeing.

No previous professional care experience is required as full training, including Positive Behavior Support (PBS), will be provided. The role requires flexibility to work evenings, weekends and bank holidays on a rota basis.

Your Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality care and support in line with individual support plans and risk assessments
- Enable people to access the community, develop independence and pursue personal goals
- Support with daily living tasks including personal care, meal preparation, budgeting and household chores
- Act as a keyworker, building meaningful relationships and maintaining regular contact
- Encourage participation in service planning, recruitment and feedback
- Uphold dignity, respect and choice in all support activities
- Follow financial procedures and support people to manage finances securely
- Accurately record support hours and report any concerns promptly
- Provide safe, person-centred support including lone working where necessary
- Monitor and report changes in wellbeing and needs
- Develop positive working relationships with families and professionals
- Attend and complete essential training and apply learning in practice
- Promote and embed Positive Behavior Support approaches
- Work collaboratively with colleagues and contribute to team development
- Follow safeguarding procedures and promote health, safety and wellbeing
- Act as an ambassador for Outward, upholding our values in all interactions

Requirements

Experience
- Right to Work in the UK (please note Outward does not provide visa sponsorship)
- Genuine passion for supporting vulnerable adults to live independently
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to build trusting relationships with the people we support
- Willingness to support people with personal care
- Resilience and emotional maturity, especially when working with behaviours of concern
- Good written and IT skills for maintaining support records
- Willingness to work flexibly including weekends, evenings and bank holidays
- Commitment to safeguarding and following support plans
- Willingness to undertake training and apply learning in practice
- Access to a smartphone capable of receiving SMS and installing authentication apps for secure systems access
- Values-driven approach aligned with Outward’s mission

Qualifications
- No formal qualifications required, although NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Health and Social Care or working towards is desirable
- Experience supporting people with learning disabilities, autism or complex needs (including unpaid or personal experience) is desirable
- Familiarity with Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) or willingness to learn is desirable
- Understanding of person-centred planning and support planning tools is advantageous
