About the Role
We are seeking a senior Systems Engineer to lead the design, delivery, and evolution of collaboration and productivity platforms across Tesco. This role owns the technology strategy and roadmap execution for Microsoft 365, collaboration services, and emerging Generative AI capabilities, developing solutions from concept through to operational handover. Key responsibilities include owning the architectural strategy and roadmap for collaboration platforms, ensuring alignment with cost, security, governance, and colleague experience; designing and delivering new technologies and platform enhancements; acting as the senior engineering authority for collaboration technologies; influencing product and vendor roadmaps; ensuring services are secure, resilient, scalable, and operable with automation and continuous improvement; and coaching and mentoring engineers to drive consistent engineering standards and outcomes across the team.

Experience
Significant experience delivering complex collaboration or workplace platforms in a large-scale enterprise environment. Deep hands-on and architectural experience across Microsoft 365 services including Exchange, SharePoint, Teams, OneDrive, Power Platform, and Copilot technologies. Strong understanding of identity, security, compliance, data protection, and backup/recovery within Microsoft cloud ecosystems. Proven ability to manage technology lifecycles, vendor relationships, and commercial trade-offs. Strong communicator able to influence senior stakeholders and partner effectively with architects, product managers, and suppliers.

Senior-level engineering expertise with a passion for collaboration technologies and innovation. Ability to lead and mentor engineers, driving consistent standards and outcomes. Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and managing multiple priorities. Collaborative mindset with strong stakeholder management skills.

Qualifications
While specific qualifications are not detailed, advanced skills in PowerShell and automation, experience with large-scale data migration and hybrid environments, and exposure to Azure infrastructure and virtualisation platforms are highly desirable.
