Hours
Full-time, 35 hours per week

Salary
£52,269 - £54,360 per annum (PO4). All appointments will be offered at the minimum spinal column point for the grade unless matching current salary with evidential proof.

About the Role

As a TA Technical Surveyor within the Housing Directorate, you will inspect private sector accommodation to determine suitability for leasing to the council to house homeless families. You will provide specialised technical support to the temporary accommodation service, prepare capital and acquisition programmes, and ensure all works meet satisfactory standards. Your role includes managing residential void work using SOR codes, supporting disrepair claims, overseeing contractors, managing budgets, and ensuring compliance with Council standards, procurement policies, and Health and Safety regulations. Experience
Proven experience as a surveyor with strong problem-solving skills. Experience managing residential void work using SOR codes and handling disrepair claims is essential.

Technically skilled and proactive professional with the ability to inspect and assess housing properties, advise on repairs and maintenance, issue and manage works orders, and ensure compliance with relevant standards and regulations. Strong analytical, communication, and record-keeping skills are required. You must be able to conduct risk assessments, prepare technical reports, and manage complex stakeholder interactions. Attention to detail, commitment to improving asset performance, reducing void times, and delivering high-quality accommodation are key attributes.

Qualifications
Relevant experience is required. The role is subject to a Basic DBS check.
