About the Role
Shape the future of talent at one of the world's greatest cultural institutions. As a Talent Programmes Officer at the British Museum, you will play a key role in developing and supporting apprentices, interns and early-career colleagues. This is an exciting opportunity to make a real difference by helping people build skills, gain confidence and thrive in their careers, while contributing to the future workforce of a globally renowned organisation.
You will be at the heart of our apprenticeship and early-career initiatives, combining programme management with meaningful people-focused support. Working closely with apprentices, managers, training providers and colleagues across the Museum, you will create an outstanding experience for participants from the moment they join through to successful completion and progression.
Your responsibilities will include overseeing apprenticeship programmes, ensuring learners are supported, managing funding effectively and meeting compliance requirements. You will monitor progress, maintain accurate records, maximise levy utilisation and proactively resolve challenges before they impact learning or development.
Beyond apprenticeships, you will help design and deliver engaging early-career experiences such as inductions, development workshops, networking events, manager briefings and progression opportunities. You will also build valuable partnerships with schools, colleges, universities and community organisations to widen access to opportunities and attract diverse talent.
In return, you will have the opportunity to make a tangible impact on people's careers and lives, help shape the Museum's future talent pipeline, work with a wide range of colleagues and external partners, contribute to a culture of learning, development and inclusion, and play a key role in delivering programmes that create meaningful pathways into work.
