About the Role
Operating within the Investigatory Powers Act 2016, officers target and intercept criminal communications. Using specialist skills, officers analyse intercepted communications to identify tactical and strategic intelligence that drives the Agency’s response to serious organised crime. This is a full-time, office-based role with no hybrid working available.

Officers are responsible for the covert collection and analysis of criminal communications, providing critical intelligence to operational teams to enable arrests, seizures of money, drugs and firearms, and to prevent loss of life.

Duties include intelligence development, research and analysis in support of the National Crime Agency’s priorities, working collaboratively with operations teams and partners, providing fast-paced operational support, drafting and submitting applications for intelligence gathering, managing risk in accordance with legislation and policy, ensuring secure handling of sensitive intelligence, and building strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

Successful candidates must complete a 10-week Intercept Training Programme, which is pass or fail. Failure to pass may result in reassignment or termination if no alternative role is available.

Security clearance requirements vary by location: Warrington appointments require SC Enhanced Security Clearance on entry and DV Enhanced Clearance within 12 months; London appointments require DV Enhanced Clearance on entry and DV STRAP Clearance within 12 months. Failure to obtain required clearance may result in termination.
