£59,511 to £63,966 per annum, subject to final confirmation, with an additional Market Supplement of £4,000
About the Role
The London Borough of Havering is seeking a dedicated Team Manager (MASH) to lead the operational day-to-day delivery of the Multi Agency Safeguarding Hub (MASH). You will ensure the service meets the highest professional standards and complies with agreed thresholds and legislative requirements specific to safeguarding vulnerable children and families.
In this role, you will manage and oversee staff to deliver high-quality social work services to children, young people, and their families, ensuring compliance with legislation, guidance, and good practice standards. You will lead and monitor staff to maintain robust and timely recording of information on relevant systems, ensuring consistency in threshold application and managerial decision-making.
You will also provide cover for the Family Intervention Team Manager as required, manage sickness absence in line with HR processes, and support service planning and development alongside senior managers. Working collaboratively with the safeguarding partnership, you will help identify training needs to improve referral quality and threshold consistency.

Experience
Proven experience in managing social work teams within a safeguarding context is essential. Experience of working within a Multi Agency Safeguarding Hub or similar environment is highly desirable.

You will be a motivated and resilient leader with excellent communication and organisational skills. You must be able to manage competing priorities, support staff wellbeing, and demonstrate a commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and vulnerable groups.
You should be proactive in identifying service needs and challenges, able to work collaboratively with partners, and committed to continuous improvement and professional development.
Qualifications
Relevant social work qualification and registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) or equivalent is required. Management qualification or evidence of management training is desirable.
