Enfield Council Children’s service are seeking a highly motivated, confident, imaginative, and dynamic Team Manager with a passion for leading an enthusiastic team and driving practice development in the important and challenging area of safeguarding children, to help us make a difference to vulnerable children’s lives. You will be based in the bubbling heart of Enfield Town in a modern newly designed client facing service hub. The new office has bespoke areas for service users and is an environment which supports our smart working policy, surrounded by small businesses, bars, restaurants, a buzzing high street and shopping centre. We have good transport links into Central London and are easily accessible to the M25, A10 and A406. As a MASH Team Manager, you will promote, encourage and oversee excellent social work practice in fast paced environment. Using Motivational Interviewing and a Strengths Based Family Approach underpinned by Signs of Safety, this is an exciting time to join and contribute to driving excellent practice. You will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and wellbeing of children and young people. You will oversee a team of skilled professionals who work collaboratively to assess and respond to safeguarding concerns swiftly and effectively. Your leadership will be essential in coordinating multi-agency responses and ensuring that children receive the support they need. Key Responsibilities: - Lead and manage the MASH Team, providing supervision, guidance and support to social workers and other professionals. - Oversee the assessment, screening, and triage of referrals to identify and respond to safeguarding concerns - Ensure compliance with statutory requirements, safeguarding policies, and best practice standards. - Develop and maintain effective working relationships with partner agencies, including health, education and police. - Promote a culture of continuous improvement and professional development within the team. Requirements: - Qualified social worker with extensive experience in children’s services, particularly in safeguarding and multi-agency work. - Social Work England registered - Proven track record of team management and leadership - Strong understanding of legislation, policies, and best practices related to safeguarding children. - Excellent communication, organizational, and analytical skills. - Ability to work effectively in a high-pressure environment and manage complex cases. Our Team Managers are supported in this challenging role with regular reflective supervision and are part of an active leadership team who provide peer support and constantly work towards improving practice.
