About the Role
Start your teacher training journey with Lift Schools and train to teach Computing through our school-based Initial Teacher Training (ITT) programme. Delivered in partnership with Ark Teacher Training, this Apprenticeship route allows you to earn while you learn, working towards your Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) and Qualified Teacher Status (QTS). You will spend the majority of your time gaining practical classroom experience, applying pedagogical theory, and building your teaching confidence throughout the school year.

The programme includes a two-week Summer School to prepare you for the training year, personalised mentoring and coaching, targeted weekly training modules, and access to a nationwide support network of trainees and alumni. Graduate with recognised PGCE and QTS qualifications and join a committed team focused on providing excellent education.

Requirements

Experience
No prior teaching experience required. Enthusiasm for education and a commitment to developing teaching skills are essential.

Qualifications
- Undergraduate degree with a 2:2 classification or above (or equivalent) by the start of the programme. A degree in Computing or a related field is preferred.
- Alternatively, a strong A-Level in Computing (Grade C or above) will be considered.
- GCSE English and Mathematics at Grade 4 (C) or above (or equivalent)
- Right to live and work in the UK for the duration of the training year
- Must not currently hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
