About the Role
Start your teacher training journey with Lift Schools and train to teach Maths through our school-based Initial Teacher Training (ITT) programme. Delivered in partnership with Ark Teacher Training, this programme leads to a Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) and Qualified Teacher Status (QTS). You will spend the majority of your time gaining practical classroom experience as an unqualified Maths teacher, supported by experienced teachers and mentors. The programme balances hands-on teaching practice with expert academic grounding, helping you build confidence and competence throughout the school year.
Key programme details include a one-year full-time commitment, with a two-week Summer School from 2 – 13 August 2027 to prepare you with essential educational theory, lesson planning, and behaviour management skills. You will receive personalised mentoring and coaching from a dedicated subject tutor and in-school mentor, alongside targeted weekly training modules. Additionally, you will benefit from a nationwide support network connecting you with trainees and alumni across 62 schools.
Graduate with recognised PGCE and QTS qualifications, fully supported as you gradually take on more independent teaching responsibilities within a vibrant and inclusive school community.
