About the Role
Join the British Transport Police Cadets – a national youth programme designed for young people aged 13–17 who want to grow, lead, and make a difference in their community. The Islington Cadet Unit offers an exciting opportunity to build confidence, try new things, and meet new people in a safe and supportive environment.
As a cadet, you will get involved in real community projects, learn about policing, develop teamwork, leadership, and life skills, and have fun while making a positive impact locally.
You will participate in activities such as supporting neighbourhood events, planning and taking part in community projects, visiting specialist police units, and engaging in team-building challenges. You will also receive your own cadet uniform and have the chance to earn awards through accredited programmes like the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award.
This role welcomes young people from all backgrounds, including those seeking a positive new start, and provides a supportive community where you can grow and succeed.
Experience
No prior experience is required. Enthusiasm, curiosity, and a willingness to try new things are essential.

Young people aged 13–17 living in London, particularly in the Islington area. You should be motivated to learn, enjoy working with others, and be interested in contributing to your community.
