About the Role
We are seeking a professional and confident Ward Manager (RMN / RNLD) to lead, inspire, and oversee the delivery of the highest standard of care on Upping Ward. Upping Ward is an Intensive Support Service for women diagnosed with personality disorder and complex mental health needs. The ward provides a robust programme of care for women with challenging high-risk behaviours who experience difficulties engaging with therapeutic programmes. Our aim is to meet the needs of these women, who may have had previous inappropriate placements, in a less restrictive setting.

Cygnet Hospital Beckton is a specialist service for women located in the East End of London, offering comprehensive care across four specialist wards including PICU, Acute, Tier 4 Personality Disorder, and Personality Disorder for women with complex mental health needs.

This is a unique opportunity to work within a forward-thinking hospital that values innovation and creativity. We are looking for a motivated leader who shares our passion for new ideas and a drive for sustained high-quality care delivery as part of a supportive team.

Key responsibilities include providing the highest standard of nursing care and acting as a role model to junior staff, coordinating all clinical aspects of the ward, ensuring cooperation between clinical departments, implementing and ensuring compliance with clinical and administrative policies, supporting staff through debriefs, appraisals, training, meetings, and development of evidence/research-based practice. You will also participate in the unit coordinator rota to provide the first point of contact for ward-based staff outside normal working hours (one day per week 7:30am – 8:00pm) and lead by example to maintain consistently high standards of clinical care and documentation.

Apply now to enjoy excellent career prospects while making a meaningful difference every day.
