About the Role
As an Accounts Payable Clerk at North London NHS Foundation Trust, you will play a key role in ensuring timely and accurate processing of supplier invoices and credit notes. Your responsibilities will include liaising with suppliers to confirm receipt and accuracy of invoices, working closely with budget holders to obtain prompt authorisation, and ensuring all documentation is scanned, indexed, and registered correctly on the Finance System, Unit4 - Agresso. You will be responsible for processing manual payments, matching invoices to Trust Order numbers, and verifying authorisations against the Trust Authorisation Stamp Database. Additionally, you will batch check entries for accuracy, reconcile supplier statements, and investigate discrepancies. You will help the Trust meet its Better Payment Practice Code by ensuring payments are made within 30 days. Awareness and application of NHS VAT rules and Trust regulations for supplier setups and amendments are essential. Daily duties also include clearing the Accounts Payable mailbox and Unit4 workflows, and providing cover in the Cashiers office when necessary. This role requires attention to detail, strong organisational skills, and the ability to work collaboratively within the finance team.
Experience
Previous experience in accounts payable or finance administration is desirable but not explicitly stated. Familiarity with finance systems such as Unit4 - Agresso is advantageous.
