About the Role
As an Analyst at HS2, you will provide analytical support to the development and delivery of HS2 and wider rail schemes, contributing to evidence-based decision-making across the programme. You will apply established analytical approaches to assess costs, benefits, and impacts, supporting value for money assessment and business case development. Your role involves gathering, interpreting, and analysing data from a variety of sources to produce clear, robust insights. Working collaboratively with colleagues and stakeholders, you will support the development of analysis that informs investment decisions and scheme design, ensuring outputs are proportionate, accurate, and aligned with HS2 Ltd and Department for Transport guidance.

Key responsibilities include delivering defined analytical work packages to support appraisal and business case development, gathering and validating data, developing and maintaining analytical tools and models, and preparing clear written outputs and presentations for both technical and non-technical audiences. You will also identify and communicate limitations, risks, and uncertainties in analysis, contribute to quality assurance processes, and work flexibly across the team to support a range of analytical priorities. A commitment to promoting and embedding Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI) in all work is essential.
