About the Role
Are you a qualified Approved Mental Health Professional (AMHP) looking to make a real difference in people’s lives? Join Haringey’s Adult Social Care service, where you will undertake Mental Health Act assessments, make independent professional decisions, and ensure individuals receive the right support while protecting their rights and dignity. Working across a variety of settings including hospitals, the community, courts and police stations, you will play a pivotal role in supporting adults experiencing mental health crises and promoting the least restrictive interventions wherever possible.

You’ll be joining a highly skilled and collaborative Adult Social Care team committed to delivering outstanding services to residents. Working alongside social workers, healthcare professionals, the police, courts and other partner agencies, you’ll contribute to a multidisciplinary approach that places the individual at the heart of decision-making. Experience
Experience working as an Approved Mental Health Professional undertaking Mental Health Act assessments and making independent professional decisions is essential. Experience working in multidisciplinary teams and across diverse settings such as hospitals, community, courts and police stations is highly desirable.
About You
You will be a confident communicator with excellent report-writing skills and the ability to build strong relationships with service users, families and partner agencies. You must be committed to safeguarding vulnerable adults, promoting independence and delivering person-centred support within a culturally diverse community. You should demonstrate a strong understanding of social care legislation and strengths-based practice.
Qualifications
You must hold a Social Work qualification and have current Social Work England registration. A thorough knowledge of the Mental Health Act and related social care legislation is required to undertake high-quality assessments and make sound professional judgements in complex situations.
