As an Assistant Consultant or Consultant, Healthcare Strategy and Planning (HS+P) you will be joining an established post within the WSP Healthcare Strategy & Planning team. In conjunction with the HS+P team, you will help to grow and develop strategic healthcare planning as a leading-edge offering to external clients, including NHS organisations and private sector clients in the UK and overseas. Your role is client facing, and you will be expected to contribute to the team in developing healthcare strategy and planning expertise, processes and procedures to ensure a quality assured service delivery.

You will be responsible for the delivery and performance of healthcare strategy and planning advisory services of varying breadth and scope, working as part of a team. You will also contribute to and provide support in preparing tender responses and delivering presentations for new business opportunities.

Requirements

Experience
You have a working knowledge of health services and/or health facilities and will undertake technical inputs as required for individual projects including - but not limited to - strategic analysis, demand and capacity modelling, models of care, clinical and functional briefing, schedules of accommodation and design reviews.

About you
You will support the delivery of a wide range of projects related to clinical and operational strategy development, clinical and operational health services and facilities planning, employing tools and methods developed by WSP. You will interact professionally with stakeholders at all levels within client organisations in meetings and workshops, contributing to or leading clinical stakeholder engagement sessions. You have very good writing skills and will be responsible for writing reports, briefs, and contributions to business cases. You possess data analytics skills, which we can help you further develop, employing models to assess health service needs and demands at various levels and scales.

You are creative and solutions-focused, helping clients investigate the needs of their services, develop solutions, review and assess options. You have natural curiosity and the ability to apply rigour to evidence reviews, keeping abreast of trends and researching healthcare planning topics. You contribute to projects globally, developing an understanding of local cultures and practices, sharing best practice observations across regions and delivering healthcare strategy and planning solutions tailored to local needs, practices and priorities.

You have a spirit of collaboration, working as part of a multi-disciplinary team, helping colleagues manage workload and develop processes and procedures to provide a quality assured service for clients. You have strong organisational skills, managing your workload and inputs into individually owned projects and contributing as a team member to larger commissions. You monitor personal inputs contributing to high quality project deliverables and outcomes. You also contribute to new business development and bid and tender preparation, supporting the Health and Life Sciences Advisory business target.
