About the Role
As an Assistant Engineer within the Blue Green Infrastructure team, you will work as part of a small, dynamic group providing expertise and delivering solutions on complex surface water issues using sustainable drainage systems (SuDS) and blue-green infrastructure. Your role will involve providing advice and guidance to clients, supporting engineers, and promoting SuDS across the wider business. You will contribute to projects of local and national importance, producing high-quality technical outputs and supporting engineering solutions from feasibility through to detailed design and construction. Key responsibilities include preparing reports, drawings, specifications, and schedules, as well as sharing knowledge within the team and representing the company at industry forums and conferences. You will have the opportunity to work on a variety of projects including public realm improvements, SuDS retrofits, high-profile infrastructure schemes such as HS2 and Smart Motorways, and flood prevention initiatives for local authorities. Additionally, you may assist in developing fee proposals and supporting business development activities.
Experience
- Some knowledge of urban drainage design and ability to review technical outputs
- Experience or understanding of hydraulic modelling using industry-standard software such as InfoWorks or FLOW
- Competence with AutoCAD
- Familiarity with geographical information systems like ArcGIS, QGIS, or MapInfo
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team with a high degree of computer literacy

Qualifications
