Flexible working hours to ensure phones are staffed between 07:30 – 17:00 during term times.

About the Role
Cognus’ Assisted Travel service is a statutory service that ensures young people can travel to school or college when they would otherwise be prevented by circumstance, disability, or need. The team works closely with parents, contractors, and educational settings to ensure the safety of students as they travel between home and school.
This exciting role involves organising transport for pupils, managing issues and complaints related to the service provided by contractors, and ensuring the service is safe and appropriate for each pupil travelling. You will work flexibly with colleagues to maintain effective communication and service delivery during term times.
Key responsibilities include:
- Organising home to school transport for eligible children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities.
- Acting as the point of contact and maintaining good communication with families, schools, and contractors.
- Ensuring transport arrangements are appropriate, efficient, and reasonably stress-free to enable passengers to arrive at school ready for study.
- Monitoring supplier performance to ensure delivery in line with contract standards.
- Recording and maintaining contract and client details on databases.
- Producing service user surveys and analysing results.
- Tendering school routes to external providers.
Experience
Experience in organising transport or working within education or social care settings is desirable but not essential. Strong organisational and communication skills are important.

Qualifications
There are no specific qualification requirements for this role, but relevant experience or training in transport coordination, education support, or related fields will be advantageous.
