Grade 4, £31,611 - £33,987 per annum

About the Role
As a Bereavement Services Advisor, you will work within a dedicated team delivering vital services related to cemeteries and crematorium administration. While previous experience in this sector and knowledge of industry best practices for grave ownership transfer is desirable, it is not essential. You will be responsible for accurately processing statutory records using the specialist Epilog Sequel database system and working efficiently within a fast-paced environment to meet strict deadlines. The role requires excellent interpersonal, communication, and writing skills to provide a responsive and professional service. You will also support team members by providing cover for other posts and participating in working parties aimed at service improvement. Flexibility to undertake overtime is essential to adapt to changing funeral demands.

Requirements

Experience
Experience in front-line service delivery within a sensitive environment is essential, including conducting regular and in-depth interviews with members of the public. You should have experience in accurate internal and statutory record keeping and cash handling. Confidence in using IT systems, including databases, word processing, and spreadsheets, is required. Knowledge of cemeteries and crematorium administration and relevant legislative frameworks is desirable but not essential.

About You
You will demonstrate a proven track record of delivering high-quality customer service. A professional appearance and the ability to adapt working hours to meet job requirements, including covering for absent colleagues, are important. You will show an understanding of and commitment to Health and Safety in the workplace and towards the public. Holding an ICS Customer Service Award or an equivalent qualification is desirable. You should be willing to work towards an appropriate qualification such as the ICCM Transfer of Ownership or equivalent.
