About the Role
This post is responsible for the day-to-day operations and delivery of a high-quality archive and local history service, including delivering major archives projects and acting as the main community contact at a local level. The post-holder will create and develop partnership opportunities to enable the service to reach a wider audience and respond to changing customer needs and demand. Lambeth Archives is a small specialist team within Lambeth's Libraries and Archives Service, managing historic records of Lambeth Council, local organizations, individuals, the borough's local studies collection, and a small museum collection. The service recently relocated to a new purpose-built archive on Brixton Hill featuring a welcoming public search room and extensive strong room with space for new collections for the next 25 years.

Experience
- At least 3 years’ experience in a similar role or environment
- Advanced computer skills including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and statistical analysis/performance management software
- Good knowledge of archives, local studies, and management
- Project management and delivery of transformational change
- Experience of financial and budgetary management
- Experience working in a customer service environment and delivering quality standards
- Experience working with partners and community organisations
- Significant experience in the archives or local history sector

You will be proactive, community-focused, and able to develop systems and processes for performance management. You should be adaptable to changing customer needs and motivated to deliver a high-quality service that engages a wide audience.
