About the Role
This is a great opportunity for aspiring Registered Building Control Inspectors. Brent is a vibrant London borough where the iconic arch of Wembley Stadium dominates the skyline. Spanning both inner and outer London, it is a borough of huge contrasts in terms of its economic, environmental, ethnic, and social makeup. The council is pursuing a far-reaching transformation agenda that better meets the needs of our community, making it an exciting time to join us. You will be responsible for delivering an effective Building Control Service to our customers on various domestic, commercial, and mixed-use projects. You will administer the surveying requirements for an area of the borough, working independently on all aspects of building control and regulations inquiries while assisting in the supervision of other officers.
Experience
We are looking to recruit enthusiastic, flexible, forward-thinking, ambitious, and customer-focused surveyors who can apply their recent Building Control knowledge and experience and are looking for their next step up.
About you
You will be registered under a credited institute and be working your way to becoming a chartered professional. You need to be an effective communicator with all stakeholders, technically astute, and able to promote and represent the Building Control service. You will support and assist the Service in delivering projects on time while ensuring compliance with Building Regulations and other statutory requirements. Generally, you will work without supervision, but you will be required to supervise other junior members where appropriate. A full driving license and the use of a car are necessary for undertaking the duties, and you will receive car mileage allowance and a parking permit for use within the borough.
Qualifications
You will be encouraged to work towards the BSR Class 2(E/F) and undertake ongoing CPD training via the myLABC programme and your own Professional Institutes requirements.
