About the Role
Brent is a vibrant London borough known for its diversity and dynamic community. We are recruiting a Finance Trainee to join Brent’s Finance & Resources department and train towards the CIPFA professional qualification. This fixed-term developmental role offers structured placements across various finance teams within local government, providing hands-on experience in budget setting, monitoring, financial analysis, management information preparation, financial systems, statutory returns, audits, internal controls, and project work. You will progressively take on more complex tasks as you advance through CIPFA exams to become a fully qualified accountant. The role requires attendance at college, independent study, and passing all CIPFA examinations at the first attempt. You will be supported by a community of trainees and have opportunities for career progression within the finance team, including senior leadership roles.

Qualifications
- Entry requirements for the Level 7 CIPFA funded Apprenticeship or CIPFA Professional Qualification including three GCSEs (grades A-C or 4 and above) and two A-Levels (grades A-C) or accepted equivalent
- Required subjects include Maths and English at either GCSE or A-Level
