Our Advisory Business Unit is recruiting for a Building Surveyor, either working towards the MRICS qualification or newly qualified MRICS, to join the Surveying Advisory team. The role can be based out of either the London or Manchester offices.
If you are working towards your MRICS, WSP offers internal mentorship, training, and dedicated guidance to help you become accredited.
Your role will require you to embrace the responsibility of service delivery as a new Building Surveyor on our growing team, contribute to the continued success and growth of the team, and deliver a client-facing advisory service to a high standard. The primary responsibilities include conducting various types of building surveys, undertaking project work for a wide range of clients, preparing planning and building regulations applications, preparing tender documents, and contract administration using NEC3 and other suites of contracts.
The Surveying Advisory team comprises experienced Surveyors and Engineers across the country, collaborating with clients across diverse sectors and markets. The team delivers expert technical advice on built assets from acquisition, through construction and operating phases to disposal. Services include Condition and Defect Surveys and analysis, Asset capture exercises, Construction monitoring roles, Fire Risk Assessments, Compliance and operational audits, Contract Administration, NEC Supervisor, CDM and Clerk of Works roles across all sectors.

Experience
- Newly Chartered Building Surveyor or working towards MRICS qualification with demonstrable post-graduation experience
- Experience undertaking building surveys, condition inspections and preparing technical reports
- Understanding of building construction, building defects and maintenance requirements
- Experience within education, healthcare, local authority, defence, or commercial property sectors is desirable
- Exposure to technical due diligence, asset condition surveys, or project monitoring services is advantageous

- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines
