About the Role
Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of adults in need of social care support? Our Adult Social Care Service is seeking a dedicated Business Support Officer to join the team at the Orient Street Respite Unit. This role supports the Orient Street Short Break Service, which provides essential respite care for young people and adults with learning disabilities and autism.
You will play a key role in ensuring the smooth day-to-day operation of the service, enabling frontline staff to focus on delivering high-quality care and support. Your responsibilities will include providing efficient and proactive administrative support, managing financial and data processes using systems such as Mosaic, SAP, and Microsoft Office, producing accurate reports, maintaining spreadsheets and trackers, and ensuring data integrity.
Additional duties include handling calls, emails, and correspondence professionally, supporting the management team with scheduling, record-keeping, and coordinating building access, as well as contributing to continuous improvement in administrative processes and service delivery. This role is based on-site at the Orient Street Respite Unit, where you will also coordinate visitors, contractors, and maintenance workers.
Please note this role requires an Enhanced DBS check prior to employment.
Experience
Substantial experience in administrative or business support roles is essential.

You are organised, motivated, and detail-oriented with strong communication and interpersonal skills. You have excellent organisational and time management abilities and can work independently as well as part of a dynamic team. You have an interest in or understanding of learning disabilities, autism, and adult social care. A willingness to learn, adapt, and contribute to a meaningful cause is essential.
Qualifications
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and experience with systems such as SAP or Mosaic is required. A good understanding of financial data management and reporting is also necessary.
