About the Role
The Cancer MDT Coordinator plays a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of multidisciplinary team (MDT) meetings and patient pathways. Key responsibilities include coordinating MDT meetings by scheduling, preparing patient lists, collecting relevant clinical data, and documenting decisions using the Cancer Information System. The role requires flexibility to attend meetings outside standard hours. The coordinator will track patient progress along diagnostic and treatment pathways, ensuring compliance with national targets and communicating with clinical teams to escalate any breaches promptly for corrective action. Accurate and timely data management is essential, including inputting data into the National Cancer Waiting Times database and relevant audits. The post holder will also provide cross-cover support for other coordinators during leave and assist in developing clear protocols to maintain service continuity. Maintaining confidentiality, adhering to health and safety regulations, and upholding a professional appearance are fundamental. The role involves active participation in training, staff meetings, and performance reviews to support ongoing personal and professional development. Experience
Experience in coordinating clinical meetings or working within cancer services is desirable. Proven ability to manage multiple tasks and maintain accurate records is essential.
