About the Role
The Council's Building Control team delivers statutory Building Control functions and manages the majority of building regulations applications within the borough. Following significant changes after the Grenfell Enquiry and the introduction of the Building Safety Act, Bexley is well positioned to meet these challenges through an ambitious service improvement plan. This plan has ensured the successful registration of building inspectors and ongoing investment in staff and processes to enhance professional standards and customer service.

We are seeking two registered building inspectors to undertake restricted functions and activities appropriate to their competency levels, alongside other building control related duties. The Council will provide supervision for activities beyond current competencies to support continuing professional development.

You will work collaboratively with key internal teams and external partners, delivering excellent customer service. This is an excellent opportunity to develop your career within a forward-thinking local authority and be part of a multi-disciplinary team managing all aspects of building control.

Experience
Applicants should have existing building control experience. The Council is particularly interested in candidates who have achieved Class 2 competency to at least categories A to D.

Qualifications
