About the Role
Islamia Primary School is a highly successful two-form, faith-based voluntary-aided school situated in North-West London. We are a consistently ‘Good’ school aspiring to be outstanding in all aspects of school life. We nurture and produce a generation of young people who contribute positively to the wider community. We are seeking to appoint a dynamic and enthusiastic Caretaker to join our highly dedicated team. The successful candidate will be ambitious, energetic, and committed to supporting a child-centred environment. This role involves maintaining the school premises to a high standard, ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for staff and pupils, and supporting the smooth running of the school site. The Caretaker will work collaboratively with staff and contractors, undertake general maintenance, and assist with premises projects as required. The post holder will be expected to follow all school policies including safeguarding, health & safety, and GDPR, and participate in training and professional development.

Experience
- Experience in caretaking, site, or maintenance roles, ideally within a school or similar setting
- Practical skills in general maintenance and basic repairs
- Ability to carry out basic plumbing tasks
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Good organisational skills and ability to prioritise workload
- Ability to multitask in a busy school environment

Qualifications
- Desirable: Relevant qualifications in maintenance, building, plumbing, or related trades
- Desirable: Additional trade skills such as decorating, carpentry, electrical basics
- Desirable: Experience managing contractors or premises projects
- Desirable: A full UK driving licence (for minibus use)
