About the Role
Are you passionate about making a positive difference in children's lives in Southwark? We are seeking qualified social workers to join our Safeguarding & Family Support Service to help ensure children in Southwark are safe and happy at home. In this role, you will build positive relationships and work directly with children, their families, and partner agencies under the guidance of experienced Team Managers. You will run child in need and child protection plans tailored to each child's unique needs and be the driving force behind positive change. Experience of child protection (CP), child in need (CIN), and court work is essential.

Our Children's Services is dedicated to providing outstanding support to vulnerable children and families using a systemically-informed, relationship-based approach that prioritises each child's needs. We work purposefully with families to manage risk, promote positive outcomes, and create lasting change. Our most recent Ofsted inspection was graded as ‘good’ in all areas, with children in our care describing us as a “special council and like a family to them.”

You will join a friendly team of dedicated professionals who share your passion for positive outcomes. We aim to keep caseloads manageable so you can focus fully on the children and families who need it most. You will be supported through regular one-to-one and group supervisions and have access to key development and training opportunities to grow as a social worker.

We offer a diverse range of training courses and specialist teams including Family Support Workers, a Keeping Families Together team, a Parenting Assessment Team conducting specialised court assessments, and a SWIFT/clinical service delivering intensive therapeutic services to families. Practice Group Coordinators provide administrative support and training on our database.
