About the Role
The Research Nurse will play a key role in ensuring that all research within the department safeguards patient well-being and is conducted in accordance with Good Clinical Practice (GCP) and the Medicines for Human Use (Clinical Trial) Regulations 2004 and Amended Regulations 2006. This role requires flexibility across disciplines to support the smooth operation of assigned clinical research projects. You will act as a patient advocate, providing support and assistance as needed, and assist in the coordination and management of a portfolio of clinical research studies. Responsibilities include the safe administration of experimental therapies and monitoring both expected and unexpected side effects of drugs and other treatment modalities used in trials. You will assess, plan, implement, and evaluate expert research nursing care and provide support to patients attending the department who have been or may be recruited onto clinical trial programmes.
