About the Role
Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust is one of the UK’s busiest and most successful NHS foundation trusts, providing a full range of hospital and community services across south London and specialist care for patients from further afield. The Trust is home to leading clinical and research facilities including the largest dental school in Europe, a £160 million Cancer Centre, Evelina London Children’s Hospital, and a recently merged world-renowned heart and lung centre.

We are seeking candidates interested in building a career in research within one of the largest oncology and haematology research teams in London. This Clinical Research Practitioner role will be part of the Lung Oncology Research Team.

Following a comprehensive induction, you will lead the coordination of a portfolio of clinical trials, assist in trial setup, identify and discuss trials with patients, collect and report data, and support patients and their carers throughout treatment. The role requires excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to improving patient choices, care, and outcomes.

The post holder will act as a patient and participant advocate, coordinate research clinics, organise study-related care, implement strategies to recruit participants, and lead on a portfolio of research studies. Responsibilities include performing clinical assessments, maintaining case report forms and site files, implementing amendments, mentoring junior team members, and contributing to quality assurance processes. Adherence to study protocols, regulations, and local Standard Operating Procedures is essential to ensure participant well-being.

The Lung Oncology Research team is based at Guy's Hospital and is part of King’s Health Partners, one of England’s eight academic health sciences centres, with dedicated clinical research facilities and an MHRA accredited Phase I clinical trials unit.
