About the Role
We are seeking an energetic and practical communications professional to join the West London Alliance (WLA), a partnership of seven West London borough councils hosted by Ealing Council. This role supports the WLA’s ambition to enhance its external-facing work to promote West London and influence regional and national decision-makers and opinion-formers.
You will lead and support a range of proactive communications and external affairs activities, including managing social media, assisting with media coverage, running events, and maintaining relationships with key internal and external stakeholders. Your work will help raise the profile of West London and progress joint influencing priorities across the boroughs.
The post is line managed by the Communications and Marketing Lead. You will be expected to work from the office at least one day per week and attend meetings and events across London as required.
This role requires a strong understanding of local authorities and the political landscape of London and the UK. You will work collaboratively with a diverse range of partners, from elected councillors to charities and business organisations. The role demands excellent written and verbal communication skills, competence in website and social media management, event organisation, and basic graphic design. Strong organisational skills and the ability to work under tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment are essential.
Ealing Council is committed to safeguarding children and vulnerable adults and expects all staff to share this commitment. This post is subject to enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) and vetting clearance. Candidates must have the right to work in the UK, with evidence requested at interview.
We welcome applications from all residents of the borough and particularly encourage early and mid-career professionals who are underrepresented in our workforce. We are committed to equality, fairness, and inclusion throughout our recruitment process.
