We are currently looking to recruit a Community Safety Specialist, responsible for delivering an efficient, proactive and customer focused safety service to our customers, playing a crucial role in the delivery of Peabody’s customer services ambition.
Working as part of a wider regional team, you will be accountable for a holistic service delivery, providing an excellent experience every time to each customer whether internal or external.
You will:
Manage a full range of community safety casework, ensuring Peabody’s Community Safety Service is delivered within agreed timeframes, collaborating with internal and external partners to ensure compliance with all necessary protocols, keeping accurate records and maintaining risk assessments.
Provide our Neighbourhood Customer Specialists with advice, support and all necessary tools and tactics to remedy cases with a key focus on prevention, intervention and enforcement when necessary.
Manage a caseload of medium and high risk anti-social behaviour cases, developing and maintaining expert knowledge of ASB prevention and collaborating with key external partners through creating effective relationships, (including Police and Local Authorities) to resolve local community safety issues.
Engage with Peabody’s internal and external legal teams on complex cases, preparing documentation and where needed representing Peabody at Court and external meetings.
Collaborate with colleagues in Customer Services and Communities team to identify support needs, accessing relevant agencies for both victims and perpetrators of anti-social behaviour, completing referrals to mediation and other support services as appropriate.

To be a successful Community Safety Specialist you will:
Be committed to delivering a positive customer experience, embodying and championing our values, possessing excellent communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills to suit a variety of audiences, being able to influence, negotiate and persuade.
Be flexible and a cooperative team player, able to work collaboratively with all parts of the business in order to understand the wider impact of your work, with the ability to self-manage a diverse and varied caseload, prioritising work effectively.
Have the ability to carry out systematic investigations to include interviews, using surveillance tools and presenting cases in court, with an understanding of relevant legislation for dealing with community safety issues and how the law can be applied.
Be pro-active, innovative and solutions focused with the ability to problem solve, ensuring customer and neighbourhood needs are met promptly, effectively and cost efficiently.
Have an understanding of current ASB legislation, regulatory knowledge and a mediation qualification would be desirable.
Be comfortable with lone working on a regular basis.
This role will require a Basic DBS check.
Essential
Knowledge and experience of managing all types of ASB, including hate crime, and gang violence.
Knowledge and experience of managing domestic abuse, including risk assessment and risk management.
Knowledge of the criminal and civil options available to people experiencing domestic abuse, including their housing options.
