Hours
Full Time - 5 days a week including weekends and bank holidays, with shifts that may include early mornings and evenings. Flexibility is essential.

About the Role
Join Peabody’s Talent Pool as a Housing Support Worker and make a real difference in the lives of young people, including care leavers, as they transition to independence. This is a practical and emotional support role, not a care position. You will help young people develop essential life skills, access housing, manage benefits, and budget effectively. Your role will be to create a safe, non-judgmental environment where young people feel empowered and respected. By sharing your own passions—whether in music, art, sports, or other interests—you will enrich the community and build meaningful connections. You will also collaborate closely with colleagues and external partners to ensure tailored support is provided at the right time. Experience
- Experience working with young people, especially those who have faced trauma, mental health challenges, or substance misuse is highly valued.
- Transferable experience from youth work, education, housing, or similar sectors is desirable.

- You connect easily with young people and are confident engaging them through creative outlets such as music, sports, or art.
- You can work independently and as part of a team, managing a caseload and supporting residents with budgeting, benefits, and housing options.
- You have strong communication and IT skills.
- You are flexible and reliable, able to work varied shifts including weekends and bank holidays.
Qualifications
While no specific qualifications are required, knowledge of safeguarding, support plans, or key working is advantageous. A positive attitude and commitment to supporting young people’s independence are essential.
